Farrell MMA had 4 fighters on an extremely busy fight card. With 19 fights to get through the day was going to be a long one.
A very busy night of fights at Combat Challange 4. With 10 fighters on the card it was all hands on deck to get each man ready.
The second part of a very busy weekend was Andy’s fight at Strike MMA in Rotherham. Having trained hard for a 2 round tournament Andy went into the event carrying an ankle injury but as always he was ready to fight.
This weekend Farrell MMA have 11 fighters competing on 2 different shows in Yorkshire. It promises to be a busy and exciting few days for the club.

Andy has decided to be kind this year and give the class a few days off over Christmas. The last class before Christmas will be on Thursday 23rd December. The first class back after Christmas will be Thursday the 6th January. The last Open Mat of the year will be Sunday 19th December and the first one in the New Year will Sunday 9th January.

The BJJ Gi Grappling tournament was very well attended nearly40 fighters competing in three different weight classes. The team from Farrell MMA were joined by fighters from a number of different clubs in the area as well as competitors from all over the country. Fighters that braved the snow and traveled from as far as Middlesbrough, Wigan, Pontefract and Doncaster deserve a special mention for waking up early on a cold November morning and making the trip.

September started out with 13 fighters competing on 4 different shows. As the month progressed the shows kept canceling, thankfully Dec Williams at Controlled Aggression came to our rescue. Farrell MMA ended up with 6 fighters competing on the event at St Marys Chambers in Rossendale. Though not your typical MMA show venue St Marys Chambers made for a great atmosphere.
After a month of show cancellations it was a relief to finally get two fighters on an event. Jason and Mark were both scheduled to fight on different shows that for one reason or another got canceled. Luckily Darren at Fight Ikon came to our rescue and after numerous phone calls both guys got matched up and made their way over with the team for Fight Ikon 4: Fight Ignite. After somehow driving past the venue, pulling up 10 yards away and asking for directions, we arrived and weighed in. Both Farrell MMA fighters were comfortably under the agreed limits. The rest of the day was spent with the usual medicals, rules meeting and long periods of waiting around. An hour before the fights began the doors were opened and near sell-out crowd began to fill the Lava Ignite Nightclub. The atmosphere created was fantastic.
